What is the 3/21 Pledge?
The 3/21 Pledge is a program developed by Ruby’s Rainbow, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of adults with Down syndrome by helping them achieve their dreams of higher education.
Since our inception in 2012, Ruby’s Rainbow has granted $430,000 in scholarships to over 150 people “rockin’ that extra chromosome” from the support of participants like yo
Our goal is to raise enough money by March 21, 2018 to grant educational scholarships to 35 Rockin’ Recipients.
Please take the Pledge and help us reach our goal!!
Individuals with Down syndrome have three copies of the 21st chromosome — and March 21 is World Down Syndrome Day. This is a day that we celebrate the lives of these amazing individuals and all the wonderful things that make them who they are!!
How do I take the 3/21 Pledge?
It is super quick and easy!!
Take the 3/21 Pledge! There are 3 easy steps to taking the Pledge:
1. Donate just $21 to Ruby’s Rainbow (or any amount!)
2. Pledge to be kind and compassionate to peeps of all abilities!
3. Spread the word. Ask three friends to take the 3/21 Pledge and donate $21.
Congratulations! You’ve just helped students with Down syndrome achieve their college dreams!
Don’t want to ask three friends, but still want to participate in the 3/21 Pledge? Donate $321 instead!! (Of course, Ruby’s Rainbow will gratefully accept any donation amount!)
A little more about Ruby’s Rainbow….
How Ruby’s Rainbow began
The goal and mission at Ruby’s Rainbow is to grant scholarships to adults with Down syndrome who are seeking post-secondary education, enrichment or vocational classes, helping them achieve their dreams of higher education while spreading awareness of their capabilities and general awesomeness.
Ruby’s Rainbow is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization inspired by a little girl named Ruby who was born with an unexpected, 21st chromosome. Finding out she had Down syndrome did not change her family’s expectations for her future, and they vowed to give her every opportunity they could to learn, grow, flourish and become an important contributor to society and the community. Through these expectations came the desire to help others “rockin’ that extra chromosome” on their journey toward higher education and independence.
Life and learning don’t stop after high school. At Ruby’s Rainbow, we want to help these amazing individuals with Down syndrome reach their highest potential while sharing with the world just how cool and capable they truly are!!
